There she is—my sweet little girl-baby. She’s been brightening our world since the moment we laid eyes on her, and, although she’s really not little anymore (at 11, she’s taller than me!), she’ll always be my baby.
As anyone with daughters knows, watching her grow into a young lady is often bittersweet. Of course we want them to grow, but there’s that little piece of us that wants them to be small forever. There’s something so conflicting about preparing them to face the world, when what we really want to do is keep them close. We know, however, that we do have to let them go, and when it comes to equipping them to do that, we often need a little bit of help.
